This is a very bright and sparky combination of pyrite on transparent scalenohedral calcite from the fluorspar mine of La Moscona. Minute pyrite crystals are liberally perched on the high points of the sharp calcite crystals. These very shiny tiny crystals were deposited at the end of the calcite crystallization, so many of them are beautifully included in the calcites. At the bottom of the specimen there is an area with dolomite crystals making a nice matrix for the calcite. Curiously, the major calcite crystal looks like a long-eared puppy! Condition is excellent with only one or two minor little bruises at the periphery of this very artistic and special specimen.
